The Lord of The Rings - The Two Towers


The Lord of The Ring The Two Towers is book two of J.R.R Tolkiens epic "The Lord of The Rings"



Boromir dies trying to protect Merry and Pippin in the battle with Orcs. They are captured by the Orcs who have been ordered by Saruman to bring the Hobbits alive to Isengard. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli track them, across the land of Rohan. Merry and Pippin escape into the forest of Fangorn during a battle between the Orcs and The Riders of Rohan. There they meet Treebeard, an ancient tree-like giant called an Ent.

When Treebeard discovers that the trees have been damaged by Saruman he rouses his fellow Ents to attack Isengard. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli meet Gandalf, who has returned as Gandalf the White. They head for Edoras to rally the horse men of Rohan, Gandalf casts out Wormtongue, who was counseling King Théoden.

At Helm's Deep they fight a great battle and overcome Saruman's army. They reach Saruman's stronghold, finding it destroyed by Ents, Merry and Pippin are safe. They release Saruman, Gandalf having broken his staff of power.

Meanwhile, Frodo and Sam journey to Mordor. Gollum follows, drawn by the ring. They capture him and he agrees to guide them to Mordor. They meet Faramir, Boromir's younger brother. Gollum leads them to a secret passage into Mordor, guarded by Shelob, a huge spider, who poisons Frodo. Sam decides to take the ring and finish the quest, but overhears Orcs saying that Frodo is not dead, only stunned.
